EasyJet Enlists Spider-Man Illustrator

‘Superhero’ themed masks for children flying with the budget airline.

As international air travel resumes, airlines will be required to follow new guidelines designed to keep travellers and cabin crew safe onboard. One airline in particular is going above and beyond to ensure it’s young passengers won’t mind adhering to these new rules.

EasyJet is working with Marvel comics’ Will Sliney to provide complimentary ‘superhero’ themed masks for children flying with the budget airline.  Having previously worked on Spider-Man and Star Wars comics, Sliney’s designs include lion and pilot prints and are to cover a child’s own face mask. The airline has announced the masks will be available on selected routes with the hope of putting young flyers at ease, once services resume on 15th June.

Director of Flight Operations at EasyJet, Captain David Morgan, said: “We have teamed up with a comic illustrator to create some bespoke children’s face mask covers as we know the airport environment could feel different and possibly daunting for younger travellers when flying initially resumes. So we hope these face mask covers help children enjoy flying with us over the summer and this makes things a little easier for parents too.”

EasyJet has previously announced that all passengers, cabin and ground crew are now required to wear masks at the airport and on flights, at all times, as part of its advanced safety measures.  Other measures, including hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes, enhanced deep cleaning of aircraft and food and drink no longer served onboard flights have been implemented to help keep passengers safe.
