Glass House is a new botanical lifestyle store based in Whitworth Lock, hoping to break down the stereotypes attached to floristry and provide a space to celebrate some of the North’s top creators.
For the green fingered, stock includes XL Alocasia Stingray (£46.95), Spiral Cactus (£17.95) and Fiddle Leaf Fig (£12.95) as well as a range of vegan skincare products and one-off art pieces.
While many businesses have struggled during lockdown, Glass House’s owners believe it provided the perfect storm for opening.
Previously trading at Hatch, under the name Bulb, the business marked 2020 as the year for their expansion. When they were forced to pause, they used this time to reflect on what they really wanted for their new store.
Split across two floors, Glass House would be at home in a Wes Anderson film. Bubblegum pink walls provide the perfect backdrop for the plants This reimagining of traditional greenhouse would be a welcome addition to anyone’s Instagram feed.
